Services · Hands

From a cable reseat to a full diagnosis. Proven the same day.

Two levels of hands-on work wherever your equipment lives: a data center or colocation, a server room, an office comms cupboard, a branch or an edge site. Remote Hands does exactly what your ticket says. Smart Hands reviews your logs before travelling, decides what to check and when to stop, and keeps your team informed. Either way, the asset is confirmed by serial before anything is touched, and the closure report arrives the same day.

  • Routine tasks to your instructions

Sounds familiar

“Something physical has failed and nobody from our team is near it.”

A disk, PSU, optic or switch has failed and your team is in another city.
Someone needs to look at the front panel and read out the LEDs.
Basic remote hands can press a button, but often can’t diagnose the fault or verify the fix.

What’s included

Routine tasks to your instructionsVisual checks and LED reports, power cycles with POST observed, cable reseats and moves to your port map, boot media.
Remote pre-diagnosisTicket, logs and photos reviewed before we travel, up to 15 minutes included, so the right part and plan are on site.
Hardware swapsDrives, PSUs, fans, memory, PCIe cards, RAID controllers, CPUs, motherboards and chassis, verified after the swap.
Network and opticsOptic swaps with light levels before and after, fibre cleaning, like-for-like switch, router and firewall swaps, link troubleshooting.
Guided troubleshootingOn site with your engineer on the call: we check, swap and test in the order you agree, and stop and call if anything unexpected turns up.
Console and BMCCrash cart or KVM and serial console sessions for your engineer, boot media, BMC resets and network access recovery.
Vendor escort and RMAVendor engineers escorted on site; failed parts packed and shipped back with the RMA label, drives kept in sealed custody.
Shipments and labellingInbound deliveries checked and logged, outbound equipment packed and shipped; labels fixed, ports traced, copper links tested.

How the job runs

  1. 01You send the asset, the symptom or the exact instruction, and the window.
  2. 02We review logs remotely for Smart Hands, or confirm the instruction for Remote Hands, and confirm scope and price in writing.
  3. 03You authorise the change and site access for our named engineer.
  4. 04On site: serial check, ESD protection, the work, the tests you agreed.
  5. 05Anything unexpected: we stop and call before going further.
  6. 06Closure report the same day; you accept it, then we invoice.

What you get

  • Closure report with serials, ports, light levels or POST results, photos where allowed
  • Failed-part custody log, RMA label and tracking where relevant
  • Open items and a one-line conclusion your team can forward
  • Shipment logs with serials and tracking

What we need from you

  • Access authorised for the named engineer, escort arranged if the site requires it
  • Replacement part on site, with the part number
  • Change approved, with a rollback plan for anything beyond a hot-swap
  • A remote owner reachable during the window

How it’s priced

A visit covers the first two hours on site, then time in 30-minute steps: the specialist rate in data centers, the standard rate in server rooms and offices. Routine tasks and common swaps, such as a drive, PSU or optic, are fixed add-ons inside the visit, so several small tasks in one visit cost less. Escort fees and parts pass through at cost, on separate invoice lines.

Questions

Which level do I need, Remote or Smart Hands?

If you know exactly what has to be done, Remote Hands: we follow your instruction to the letter. If someone has to work out what is wrong, Smart Hands: the engineer decides what to check, what to swap and when to stop, with your team informed. Not sure? Describe the problem and the quote says which level fits.

What if the task turns out to need more than the instruction?

We stop, tell you what we see and ask. If you want us to diagnose, the job continues as Smart Hands at the agreed rate.

Can you do several small tasks in one visit?

Yes, and that’s the cheapest way. On a care plan, small tasks queue for the next visit.

Can you supply the part?

We work with the part you ship to the site. On request we buy small parts on your approval, at cost plus 10% handling, with the supplier’s invoice attached.

What if the swap doesn’t fix it?

We stop and call your engineer before going beyond the agreed change. Extra time is billed only after you approve it.
